- Process Work -
The whole project came to be from working on a client's logo for a ski club. They really pushed for mountains and peaks in their design, and as I would sketch for them I realized, that would be a really cool design on its own not related to skiing. So for weeks, I relentlessly drew mountains, peaks, and just about anything nature related.
- First Logo -
At the end of the nature drawing phase I had found the perfect three set of mountains. They were simple, but strong. They were elegant but mighty. I was really happy with the design. So happy in fact, I made these into sweatshirts for my senior project. At this point I stopped and was happy with the first design no need to continue it... or so I thought.
- New Logos -
While I was designing the first logo and collecting words that would fit in the design, I thought that the "Wander" seems to be a starting point word. As if there was much more to uncover. I spent some time coming up with a nature cycle of exploration I call the wander cycle.
The Wander Cycle:
Wander
Discover
Remember
Retreat
This was a pretty simple idea at first, but as I explored it and its authenticity, I realized it can be used for just about anything in life. The Wander moment; of just looking around almost randomly. The Discover moment; reaching a point of appreciation. The Remember moment; looking back fondly on the location or memory. The Retreat moment; returning to the area where the memories were created.

- INSPIRATION -
The inspiration for the series came from a design I discovered in high school. Ever since then, it has been a resident in my mind. I am very proud of how these turned out. I always pushed the project back because I didn't want to ruin the image in my head with failure to create it, but that's no way to live. Life is all about failures, but getting past those failures is critical in this business.
